He has already been up front at times, while also on the left of a front three, or being moved to the right for parts of games.
The source adds that Gakpo has now moved into a house after being in a hotel.
He will now be hoping to get a chance to impress in the coming games, as Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino are still out.
