Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp concedes that he probably deserved a red card against Manchester City.

The Reds manager was irate with the assistant referee after a foul on Mohamed Salah was not sufficiently punished.

Klopp lost his cool during the tightly contested game, which his side won 1-0 through a Salah goal, and was sent off.

His opposite number, Pep Guardiola, also had his share of disagreements with the officials during the game.

Speaking after the game, Klopp told Sky Sports: “In the end, probably deserved, but you cannot have this situation.

“It is the clearest foul I ever saw in front of the linesman and he is not bothered. It is clear. They just watch the game but we [the managers] are involved."
