Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says victory over Everton was a grind.

Mohamed Salah scored twice for the 2-0 win, with Ashley Young being sent off before halftime for Everton.

Klopp said, "Well deserved, it is a difficult game and a different game with lots of emotions involved.

"We had three big opportunities which didn't end up as a shot on target - that isn't cool. There has to be a better final ball.

"The red card for Everton obviously changed the game and we didn't immediately use it to our advantage. It can lead to frustration but we kept them away from our goal which is important, especially from set-pieces.

"Yes, we are probably lucky with Konate that he didn't get the second yellow.

"Of course I understand Everton's frustration. It is hard but with time you get over it.

"It was difficult, Everton is not a team which has that deep a block.

"I would have loved to play 11 v 11 because it is a different game. Against 10 it is really deep and it is difficult.

"When we are flying we will win football games. When we're not flying we still have to win and that's what we did."
