Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made six changes to his team when they took on Chelsea on Tuesday night.
Klopp was furious at the way his team played in a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
He rang the changes for the game against the Blues at Stamford Bridge, but had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Klopp put Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson to the bench, while Virgil Van Dijk missed out through illness.
Asked about his changes pre-game, he told reporters: Some [forced changes]. Virgil is obviously unavailable. And all the rest is like, some get a rest, some need a rest, and a lot of players get an opportunity to show up tonight and that's it.
We needed fresh legs that was clear we needed fresh minds as well. And, how I said before, it didn't work out that well in the last few weeks, so that's the moment that you have to make changes. So I really hope that we can show the reaction, when it's not the same team, obviously, but still as a group we have to show a reaction."
