Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits he will have to rotate players in the cup competitions this season.
While the Reds did name a fairly strong Europa League team against LASK in midweek, they did rest a few stars for the 3-1 win.
Klopp admits it will be a balancing act in that competition and the League Cup, as he does want the club to win more trophies.
"We will see now. Look, I 100% understand [the question] but it is early stages of the season, so when everyone is fit then the very young boys, we will probably not have that much game-time, that is how it is," Klopp told reporters.
"But it is not in this age, when you are 17, 18 or 19, it is not a problem. It is nice to have a game here or there. It's much more important that you have these games in the moment when you are really ready for it.
"It's not there to show that they are nearly there, it's actually to bring them in when they are really ready to do it. Some of them might be and some might not but at the end of their career, it doesn't matter. It's not important if your first game was in September 2023 or September 2024.
"It really doesn't matter but in that time it makes a massive difference for some people but when you look back at the end of your career, it doesn't. So it's just about being as successful as possible, that is obviously very important. But it is about using the player at the perfect moment for them."
