Liverpool have opened talks with CA Talleres for Kevin Mantilla.
The Colombia U20 international has attracted an approach from the Reds this month, says the Sunday Mirror.
Talleres president Andres Fassi has held talks with Liverpool and Brighton over Mantilla's sale.
Liverpool have been tracking the defender for some time, but know they will face work permit hurdles.
Mantilla only moved to Talleres from Independiente Santa Fe this season, which has forced Fassi to hesitate in selling.
