Liverpool are set to step up plans for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The Belgian is a top target for Reds manager Jurgen Klopp as he seeks to rebuild his midfield.
With Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to leave for Al-Ittihad and Al-Ettifaq respectively in the coming days, Lavia is set to be the subject of a bid from Liverpool.
The Mail's Adrian Kajumba is reporting Chelsea are also to compete for Lavia's signature.
"Chelsea and Liverpool have held discussions over Romeo Lavia with developments expected in the race to sign the Belgian midfielder in the coming days," he states.
