Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk admitted frustration after their 2-2 draw at Brighton.
The Reds were 2-1 up before a late equaliser scored by the hosts.
Van Dijk said: "We came here to win. I think we had opportunities to do so and in the end a draw, after a difficult game. Quite open at times. Quite even but looking at our team, we had opportunities to win.
"Obviously, it is not only him [Mac Allister for the first goal]. It is me as well. It is a risky ball and we try to play out from the back. These things happen and you get punished. The way we bounced back as a great reaction."
On Brighton's equaliser, he added: "Miscommunication. He heard a shout and it wasn't. It was a miscommunication and e don't want to make mistakes. Overall I am proud of my team and we have to get through the international break and then back for a very interesting couple of games."
