Liverpool are seriously interested in Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.
With the Reds' sporting director Jorg Schmadtke's son landing a similar role with Gladbach, their relationship may come in handy.
Kicker states that Nils Schmadtke will work as Gladbach's sporting director this summer.
He does have a lot of experience, having worked at Wolfsburg as manager of their scouting department.
He will now have the tough decision to resist interest from Liverpool in Kone.
After two impressive seasons at Gladbach, Kone is valued at around 30 million.
