Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was delighted to play match winner for his side.

The Brazilian was at his immense best against West Ham United at Anfield on Wednesday.

Alisson saved a penalty to ensure his side took all three points from the fixture.

Post-game, he told club media of his save: “Not bad at all! I'm really happy about that because we work so hard every day to come here and perform. Sometimes things don't happen just as we want but I think in the last few games it's working out."

He added: “I won't tell too much about that! But I think it was a good save. In football everybody studies everybody – the strikers study the goalkeeper, the goalkeepers study the strikers or the penalty takers. I will not talk too much about my thing what I do – sorry!"

And on Darwin Nunez getting the match winning goal, he finished: “We are helping him a lot, we keep him really close. He's a really good lad. I know that it's not easy, it's really difficult to settle in a different country.

“When I came here, I knew a little bit more English than him – he's learning. He's working hard on that – not only on the pitch but outside to learn English.

“He's a really disciplined man and we are trying to help him, help Lucho. We are a really strong team who works together and sticks together all the time when we are at the training ground.

“Sometimes outside the pitch we come together to spend time together – and this is important not only for him but for his family and for all our families."
