Liverpool launched a late summer bid for Newcastle United attacker Bruno Guimaraes, it has been revealed.
The Reds were seeking to rebuild their midfield over the summer market and eventually brought in Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.
And AS says Liverpool made a late attempt for Guimaraes.
It's suggested the Reds were willing to offer 100m to tempt Newcastle into parting with the Brazil international.
But last week's offer was met with a 'resounding no' from Toon chiefs.
