Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has slammed Manchester United's players ahead of tonight's clash.
United have lost their first two Premier League games of the season and now face a daunting meeting with Liverpool at Old Trafford.
He said on talkSPORT: "Liverpool will benefit from it, the Man United players won't, so they will have to have that in mind and the job is hard enough for the Man United players right now.
"You've got Man United players who are looking for an excuse right now. You've got some people who you would not want to be in the trenches with.
"It will only give Liverpool a lift and be an excuse to those weak players that play for Man United, who have not stood up, who have been bottlejobs. That's last year and they've shown signs of it this year.
"Take responsibility, deal with the disappointment that comes along and then grow and become a bigger player going forward.
"Right now, what you are seeing is Man United players looking for excuses, they'll be blaming the manager, blaming this demonstration, they'll be blaming anything they can apart from holding the mirror up, looking at themselves in that mirror and saying, 'could I have done more?'"
