Liverpool have made a formal approach to Sporting CP for Matheus Nunes.
Jornal de Noticias says Liverpool have made official contact with Sporting over the signing of Nunes.
The Reds are the most recent club to enquire about the possibility of signing Nunes this summer. Other clubs credited with an interest are Chelsea and Wolves.
Sporting do not want to sell Nunes, after letting Joao Palhinha depart for Fulham earlier in the window.
Nunes is reported to have a release clause worth £50.6million in his current contract, which is set to expire until 2026.
