Thiago has decided to undergo surgery on a long-standing hip injury, which will bring his season to an early end.
The Spain international has just undergone the operation and his recovery will take him through to the summer.
Thiago, 32, missed Liverpool's 4-3 win over Tottenham and will be sidelined for their final five Premier League fixtures.
He is expected to be fit for the first day of preseason on July 8.
