Liverpool pair Joe Gomez and Alexis Mac Allister were pleased with victory over West Ham.

Mohamed Salah's penalty was canceled out by West Ham's Jarrod Bowen before Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota settled the game 3-1 for the Reds.

Gomez said: "They've got great quality they've got it up front and throughout the team. Obviously Michail Antonio is a big threat and we knew that was going to be difficult.

"It's a big result for us obviously and going to 1-1 was a moment we had to reset and regroup and I think we did that.

"They're always going to have their moments it's just about us staying confident and keep playing our football. We knew their threats on the counter."

Mac Allister also remarked: "Very tough game. We know them, we know how they play and we knew that they were going to try and defend a lot and try to counter attack. We prepared really well for the game and thank goodness we won it.

"It was my first assist for the club and even nicer because it was to Darwin, very happy, but of course the most important thing is the result.

"We are working really hard and everyone can see we have improved a lot since the beginning and this is the way and we will have to keep working.

"The most important thing is to win games and we are doing it."
