Liverpool have hit back at criticism of taking a short flight back from Newcastle this weekend.
The Reds have stated that they had no choice but to take the 33-minute flight back from Newcastle on Saturday night due to their fixture schedule.
Per The Mirror, Liverpool flew 145 miles from Newcastle to Liverpool, rather than travel via coach or train.
The Reds chose to take this step as a result of their game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Liverpool felt having to play Real on Tuesday night, after a late Saturday game, meant they needed to get back as soon as possible.
However, their fans voiced displeasure on social media, given the club has usually stood for working class values.
