Liverpool may not be sure where to turn in their hunt for a defensive midfielder this summer.
The Reds have been rejected by Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who are both moving to Chelsea.
With the club even agreeing fees for both players, they were still unable to get the deals over the line.
Per The Times' Paul Joyce, the Reds are now in a situation where they have very few alternatives.
The club had believed they would get at least one of Lavia and Caicedo, if not both.
Instead they have only Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister as new midfield recruits.
