Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson may not see action again until October.
Henderson will be sidelined for three weeks, missing a further four Liverpool games after he limped off during the Reds' game with Newcastle United last week with a hamstring injury.
The Athletic's James Pearce reports Henderson should return after the international break after the results of the scan revealed the injury wasn't as bad as first feared.
That would mean the Liverpool captain will miss games against Napoli, Wolves, Ajax and Chelsea before hopefully being fit for the Reds' Premier League clash against Brighton.
