- Liverpool FC has announced that ticket prices will increase by three per cent next season, followed by further rises in line with inflation for the subsequent two campaigns.
- This marks the first ticket price increase on the Kop since Fenway Sports Group took ownership of the club 15 years ago.
- The club justified the decision by citing significantly increased matchday operating costs and a period of eight ticket price freezes over the last decade.
- The Liverpool Supporters Board branded the decision “extremely disappointing”, calling the move “wrong” and stating that fans will now pay more during times of global uncertainty.
- While adult general admission and season ticket prices will rise, junior tickets and local general tickets for fans with a Liverpool postcode will remain frozen, and the young adult age range has been extended.
