The Argentine was given his marching orders for a rash challenge against Bournemouth on Saturday.
While the Reds won the game 3-1, the 24-year-old will be suspended for their next three matches.
Manager Jurgen Klopp stated post-game that it was a harsh" decision in his view.
Many others, including Gary Linekar on Match of the Day, stated the decision was also wrong.
Per the BBC, the Reds will officially appeal the decision to the PGMOL and Premier League.
