PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) and Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd have been asked to provide a detailed explanation of problems affecting users of the local navigation app TuJu, including their causes, technical issues and corrective measures.

MADANI Government spokesman and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said LLM had acknowledged the problems and confirmed that improvements were under way.

“The explanation from LLM and Prosignal is crucial to addressing users’ concerns comprehensively, improving TuJu’s reliability and strengthening public confidence in the local navigation app,” he told a post-Cabinet meeting press conference here today.

Fahmi also encouraged the public to consider alternative navigation apps developed by both local and foreign companies.

“What matters is avoiding Waze due to the security concerns highlighted by the National Security Council,” he said.

Last Tuesday, the government encouraged Malaysians to use TuJu, developed by LLM, as an alternative navigation app.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the recommendation followed concerns over information security and users’ movement data, citing Waze’s links to Israeli law.

TuJu was developed by Prosignal Consortium under a memorandum of understanding signed with LLM on May 26, 2022, and was officially launched on Nov 26, 2025.
