AUTHORITIES have launched an investigation into an alleged RM1.5 million fraud involving a female actor and her husband, after a 56-year-old man lodged a police report on 7 January regarding a non-existent land sale in Selangor.
Assistant Commissioner Azahar Abdul Rahim, Chief of Police for the Seremban district, confirmed that while the actress has not been linked to previous cosmetic product scams, she and her husband are now suspects in this land fraud case.
“The individuals named are involved in a case concerning the sale of state-granted land in Selangor that does not exist, resulting in losses of RM1.5 million,” Azahar said, adding that investigations are ongoing. Initial action has been taken despite both suspects reportedly being outside Peninsular Malaysia.
“Information obtained so far indicates that both suspects are in Sarawak. They have been placed on the wanted list and included in the Immigration Department’s Special Monitoring List for tracking and apprehension,” he stated.
The case emerged after a beauty entrepreneur publicly accused the actress and her spouse of defrauding her of RM300,000, in a social media post on the platform Threads under the account name kakbeyna_official.
She also suggested that other victims may have suffered losses amounting to millions of ringgit.
Following these allegations, social media users have speculated about the identity of the actress, many referencing names of women who have largely withdrawn from the entertainment industry.
Several police reports have reportedly been filed by other victims, and the actress is said to have shared screenshots of messages from additional complainants, which include images of her identity card and that of her husband.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, warning that the suspects are actively being sought, and the case remains under close monitoring as officials attempt to establish the full scope of the alleged fraudulent activity. - March 3, 2026
