Public rudeness is one thing, but using offensive language against authorities is another. A Malaysian lawyer had shared a story highlighting a local boy's encounter with the police. The boy failed to present his IC when approached for inappropriate behaviour in public.

Upon the request for his IC, he not only couldn't provide it, but also accused the officers of abusing their power, directed derogatory language at them, and even pushed an officer attempting to defuse the situation.

Shortly after, the police detained him and took him to the Dang Wangi police station for further investigation. Despite this, his unruly behaviour continued, including responding rudely to an officer's question about his ID's whereabouts.

The officers had to contact JPN to verify his identity, and he was later brought to court on two charges: using insulting language and not possessing his IC.

The judge found him guilty on both counts, imposing an RM100 fine for the insulting language and RM7,000 for the missing IC. Additionally, an extra RM1,000 fine was added for the ID offence, with a one-month deadline for payment.

Failure to comply would result in a seven-month jail term. This incident serves as a reminder to maintain politeness in public, especially when dealing with authorities, and to always carry your ID.
