On Monday (Sept 2), Malaysian para-shuttle Cheah Liek Hou did the nation proud by winning the country’s first gold medal at the Paris Paralympics.

This officially makes him a two-time gold medallist after he was crowned champion at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Movie about Cheah Liek Hou’s journey to hit cinemas again

To celebrate Cheah’s historic win, the locally-made movie ‘Gold’ will be rescreening at two GSC Cinema outlets starting tomorrow (Sept 5).

In an announcement by GSC Cinema on its Facebook page, it said that the movie will be shown at GSC Mid Valley & GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang.

Malaysians can also watch ‘Gold’ via Astro channel 480, On Demand, and Astro GO, as well as through streaming application Sooka, reported Sinar Harian.

‘Gold’ tells the story of how Cheah overcame multiple challenges such as the loss of his father and being born with Erb’s Palsy to become a Paralympic champion, where he was coached by the legendary Rashid Sidek.

The cast includes Jack Tan playing Cheah, Farid Kamil as Rashid Sidek, as well as a guest appearance by Tony Eusoff.
