Local Private Uni Student Gets Out of Car in Standstill Traffic & Attacks 2 Men with Steering Wheel Lock in Sepang

A road rage incident that took place in Dengkil, Sepang, in Selangor caught the attention of Malaysians recently, with a video of the incident circulating on social media.

The video, believed to have been originally shared by the Sepang Viral Facebook page, has been reposted by many public social media accounts, including this post by @update11111 on X (formerly Twitter) which garnered over 293,000 views and 1,900 likes as of the time of writing.

In the video, 3 men can be seen fighting on the road after coming out of their cars during a traffic standstill.

1 man, believed to be the aggressor, was driving a white Perodua MyVi, while the other 2 were driving a red Perodua Axia.

Furthermore, the aggressor was using a steering wheel lock to attack the 2 men, landing a few hits while the 2 of them used their hands and an unidentified object to block the attacks.

In one instance, the aggressor also pushed 1 of the 2 men against a pickup truck, before the 2 of them ended up getting back into their cars.

The perpetrator has since been arrested and may face up to 10 years in jail if convicted

Following the video going viral, Sepang District Police acting Chief Shan Gopal Karpal in a statement revealed that the 2 victims of the fight had lodged a police report on the incident at 12.17pm yesterday (3 October).

Harian Metro quoted Shan Gopal as saying that the incident took place at 11.50am the same day and was instigated by the perpetrator’s dissatisfaction with the 2 men while driving from Air Itam towards Dengkil.

As a result of the incident, the 2 victims suffered injuries on their heads and arms.

The perpetrator, a private university student, had since been arrested, with the steering wheel lock used during the incident also seized by the police.

The incident is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.

Should he be charged and convicted under this provision, the perpetrator may face up to 10 years in jail or with a fine or with whipping or with any 2 of such punishments.
