Logan star Dafne Keen ‘offered cocaine at 11 years old’ at Hollywood parties

Dafne Keen, the actor who found fame playing Wolverine’s young clone in the 2017 superhero film Logan, has revealed she was offered cocaine at Hollywood wrap parties when she was just 11 years old.

The actor, now 21, opened up about her experiences as a child in the film industry during an appearance on the Inside of You podcast.

Keen was 11 years old while filming Logan and 12 when the film was released; she has subsequently starred in TV shows including His Dark Materials and Star Wars: The Acolyte.

Referring to her relationship with alcohol, Keen remarked to podcast host Michael Rosenbaum: “I don’t think I’ve ever been drunk enough to even have a hangover. I’m such a control freak with that.”

“Because also I think as a child actor I witnessed so much of that as a child that I just had no interest,” she continued. “I was getting offered coke at wrap parties. [When I was] like, tiny. Like 11, 12, 13 [years old]. So I saw what that was, so I was like, ‘I don’t really have any interest in that’… I was saying no, fortunately.”

Keen said that she avoids drugs and alcohol in adulthood, as she doesn’t “really need it”.

“I’ll go out and stay out ’til 6, but sober,” she said. “Just for the vibes, just ’cause I like music and I like dancing and I like people.

“I did used to lie as a teenager so I wouldn’t get peer pressured. I’d be like, ‘Nah, I’m good. I don’t wanna drink. I already took something.’ Dead sober. Like, the goodest goody-two-shoes ever.”

Keen also spoke highly of her experience working with Australian actor Hugh Jackman, with whom she shared most of her scenes in Logan.

“[Jackman] gave me a lot of really positive reinforcement and a lot of really good advice. And he was always so lovely,” she recalled. “He’s the best number one you could ever wish for. And he’s the best on-screen dad.”

“He genuinely felt like a sort of parental figure,” she continued. “He made sure that no one was abusing my hours, that I was having fun on set, that I wasn’t aware of any tensions that would’ve been happening behind the scenes. He was so incredibly protective and amazing.”

Keen and Jackman later reunited when she cameoed in the 2024 superhero team-up film Deadpool & Wolverine.
