DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke has criticized PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang for attempting to drag his party into the ongoing controversy surrounding Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s case. Loke accused Hadi of deploying the well-worn political trope of blaming DAP for every issue under the mantra “Semua Salah DAP,” meaning “Everything is DAP’s fault.”

In a statement , Loke denounced Hadi’s accusations as baseless and politically motivated, describing them as an irresponsible attempt to malign DAP. He clarified that matters concerning royal pardons fall under the jurisdiction of the Pardons Board, which operates independently of the Cabinet and has no DAP representation.

“The Pardons Board makes decisions based on advice from the Attorney General to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. DAP has no involvement in this process,” Loke stated.

He went further to criticize PAS for what he called divisive and unscrupulous political maneuvers aimed at destabilizing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s administration. Loke accused PAS leaders of being “power-hungry” and willing to exploit any controversy to undermine the government and seize control of Putrajaya.

Loke called on Malaysians to prioritize national stability and reject what he described as PAS’ “dishonourable and petty politics.” He reaffirmed DAP’s unwavering support for Anwar’s leadership and expressed confidence in the coalition’s ability to counter PAS’ destabilization efforts.

This political drama unfolded following a significant development in Najib’s legal battle. The Court of Appeal recently allowed Najib’s appeal to compel the government to disclose a purported “supplementary order” by the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong. This alleged addendum would allow Najib to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.

The appellate court’s decision was a split ruling, with Judges Datuk Azhahari Kamal Ramli and Datuk Seri Mohd Firuz Jaffril favoring Najib’s request, while panel chair Datuk Azizah Nawawi dissented. This ruling permits Najib to present additional evidence supporting his claim about the existence of the addendum and have the matter reviewed by the High Court.

The controversy has reignited tensions among Malaysia’s political factions, with supporters of Najib, including members from UMNO, PAS, and Bersatu, rallying in Putrajaya. As the case progresses, it continues to stir debate over the intersection of politics and judicial decisions in Malaysia.
