London bus destroyed by fire on hottest June day on record as heatwave grips UK

A double-decker bus in London burst into flames on the hottest June day on record.

Footage shows the number 23 bus, which serves routes from Westbourne Park to Aldwych, ablaze at a bus depot in west London on Wednesday (24 June).

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were sent to Westbourne Park to put out the blaze, after the London Fire Brigade received reports of a fire at 6.23pm.

Emergency services said they had the fire under control by 7.11pm.

The bus and two electric charging points were destroyed in the blaze. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
