LABUAN: The reported impending closure of 35 Shell kiosks in Sabah and Labuan, effective January next year, is shocking as well as worrying because the reduced number of stations will inevitably cause inconveniences and delay refilling of petrol tanks, thus affecting thousands of motorists.
Activist Lau Seng Kiat said the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living should treat the matter with serious concern and help resolve the issues that triggered such drastic decision.
“Such action by retail stations has not occurred before and will not reflect well on the ruling government,” he said.
