A Republican senator’s look of horror was caught on camera as her colleague’s attempts to catch out former special counsel Jack Smith blew up in his face.
Senator Eric Schmitt accused Smith of perjury after he denied attending a Hawks NBA game in Atlanta, where, according to conspiracy theories promoted by Republican officials, Smith colluded with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in a plot to prosecute Trump and his allies.
Schmitt showed text messages which he said proved Smith was lying.
But under questioning by Democrat Amy Klobuchar, Smith revealed he had been to see the Iowa Hawkeyes playing in Maryland that day.
MS NOW cameras caught the reaction of Alabama Republican Katie Britt, seated next to Schmitt, when his confusion was revealed.
