KUNAK: A lorry carrying a load of palm kernel shells overturned in an accident at KM4 Jalan Kunak Spur on Monday morning, knocking down a streetlight.
Kunak police chief Supt Rejali Angong said the incident occurred at 7.50am on a straight stretch of road after the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer onto the road shoulder before overturning.
He said the accident resulted only in damage to the vehicle and streetlight, with no injuries reported, adding that investigations are ongoing.
Motorists are advised to comply with traffic regulations, take necessary safety precautions and ensure they are well-rested before driving to avoid fatigue.
Drivers are also urged to exercise extra caution when passing through Pan Borneo Highway construction areas by following all traffic signs installed by the authorities to prevent accidents.
