Netizens praised a quick-thinking lorry driver who avoided a potentially devastating collision after an express bus struck the vehicle near Menora Tunnel.
A quick-thinking lorry driver narrowly averted a multi-vehicle collision near the Menora Tunnel on Tuesday (June 16) after an express bus crashed into the rear of his vehicle.
Widely shared on social media, dashcam footage showed the lorry veering towards the left lane after being struck by the express bus.
The front of the bus also appeared to have sustained damage in the collision.

Fortunately, the lorry driver managed to steer and brake safely near the divider, avoiding nearby vehicles.
At the time of writing, the authorities have yet to issue any updates regarding the incident.
While the circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, many social media users believe the lorry driver’s quick response helped avert a potentially devastating accident.
One commenter said that the impact on the bus did not appear to be particularly severe, suggesting that the force of the collision was directed more towards the left side of the lorry, causing it to veer right into the divider.
Had the bus struck the lorry at a different angle, there was a high likelihood that it could have spun into adjacent lanes and collided with other vehicles.
“We should start giving community awards to heroes like this,” one user wrote.
“Please identify the lorry driver. He deserves to be recognised for his bravery. Many lives may have been saved by this selfless act,” another commented.
