
KENINGAU: A lorry driver for a construction company carrying out works on the Sapulut-Pagalungan road was killed when the vehicle skidded and overturned, at 4pm, on Wednesday.
Keningau District Police Chief Supt Yampil Anak Garai said Kamaruddin Kasmin, 36, of Kampung Limbawan, Keningau, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
He said police received a report on the accident from the public at 6.05pm on Wednesday.
He said investigations at the scene found the accident involved a 40-tonne Shacman dump truck without a registration number (only labelled K1).

The victim was believed to have jumped out of the vehicle onto the road.
The victim’s body has been taken to Keningau Hospital.
Meanwhile, in KUDAT, a man was hurt when he accidentally drove his car into a monsoon drain.
Abdul Amir Lakipou, 42, drove along Jalan Tambalang before the 11.20am mishap on Thursday,
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations, Hamsa Isnurdini, said passers-by rescued the man before firemen arrived.
“We received a call about this accident around 11.25am, and the victim was already brought out of the vehicle when we arrived,” he said.
