KENINGAU: A timber lorry driver survived after the vehicle skidded and plunged into the river from the Sook Bridge along the Kim Loong-Ponontomon road, Sunday.

The load of logs he was transporting, however, drifted away. Fortunately, the driver was able to get out of the lorry.

According to a witness, the lorry was hauling the logs from Ponontomon towards the Keningau - Sook highway.

“Arriving at the scene, the driver lost control as the surface of the wooden bridge covered with red soil was slippery due to the continuous rain,” said the witness.
