
PETALING JAYA: A lorry crashed into several vehicles in Putrajaya today, including a police outrider’s motorcycle, leaving two dead.
According to CCTV footage of the incident, several cars were stopped on the highway to make way for police outriders escorting a convoy.
Putrajaya police chief Asmadi Abdul Aziz said a lorry then attempted to change lanes and failed to brake on time, crashing into six cars, three motorcycles, a police outrider’s motorcycle and two lorries.
He said paramedics confirmed that two men died at the scene, while other victims are being treated at Putrajaya Hospital and Serdang Hospital.

Read more “The two deceased were motorcyclists,” said Asmadi, adding that the incident occurred at about 10.15am.
“An investigation is being held under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by dangerous or reckless driving. The lorry driver has been detained for further investigation.
“I am on the way to the location from Kuala Lumpur,” he told FMT.
Netizens said the accident had led to a traffic standstill at Precinct 12 in Putrajaya, from the direction of IOI City Mall.
