TUARAN: A man was killed while another was injured when a 10-tonne lorry carrying cooking oil skidded off the road at Murug-Turug Eco Tourism, along Jalan Ranau in Tamparuli, on Thursday.
The District Fire and Rescue Station said it received a distress call at 1.02pm and arrived at the scene 37 minutes later, about 24 kilometres away.
One of the victims was rescued by members of the public before firefighters arrived, while the other, who was thrown from the vehicle, was carried up using a stretcher.
The injured victim was handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further treatment, while the deceased was confirmed dead at the scene and handed over to the police for further action.
