KINABATANGAN: A lorry carrying oxygen gas cylinders lost control while trying to avoid a motorcyclist near Kampung Batu Puteh, causing a major traffic jam.

The incident, which occurred around 3pm today, blocked both lanes, creating a two-hour traffic standstill as vehicles were unable to pass the accident site, with the traffic jam now stretching over 4km.

The lorry, which was headed towards Lahad Datu, veered off the road, but the driver escaped unharmed. Despite the potential danger, the gas cylinders remained intact, avoiding a possible explosion.
