A truck experienced suspected brake failure on Saturday (Apr 12) at 3:30PM., resulting in a collision with 15 other vehicles on the Serenia Toll Plaza slip lane heading towards Cyberjaya. Sepang deputy police commissioner Supt. Shan Gopal Krishnan reported no casualties from the incident.According to Shan Gopal, initial investigations revealed that the tipper lorry's brakes failed while traveling from Nilai to Cyberjaya. Those with information can contact the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Sepang Police Headquarters or Insp Muhamad Haziq Ab Karim at 017-9076260,” he said in a statement yesterday. He added that the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Earlier, a number of images and video clips from the incident went viral on social media, showing several cars that were purportedly struck by the truck and suffered severe damage.Observations were made by some social media users regarding the incident, noting that reputable companies such as Shell and Petronas typically do not encounter similar issues involving their tankers. Furthermore, concerns were raised about the driver's responsibility to ensure the vehicle's proper functionality prior to operating it on public roads and potentially jeopardizing the safety of others.
