The unexpected visitor was spotted around 10pm at the front gate of a residence in the housing area, prompting a swift response from the local fire department.

Chief of the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station, Sumsoa Rashid, said a team of nine personnel was dispatched to the scene, located about five kilometres from the station, following a report by concerned residents.

“A report was made by a resident who found a crocodile outside the gate of a house in the residential area,” Sinar Harin cited hi saying when contacted on Saturday. “The operation to capture the crocodile was immediately launched using special equipment.”

The reptile was safely secured and later handed over to the Sabah Wildlife Department (Jabatan Hidupan Liar) for further action.
