AUTHORITIES investigating the brutal murders of a mother and her adopted daughter in Kampung Sekolah, Juru, have dismissed social media rumours suggesting a love triangle as the motive
Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail stated that the ongoing inquiry does not support these allegations.
He confirmed that three men, including the 57-year-old husband of the victim, remain in custody to enable a comprehensive investigation aimed at identifying the true culprit.
“Police are examining all possibilities in this case, but we urge the public to cease spreading speculation as it may obstruct the investigation,” he said, appealing for cooperation and patience while authorities conduct their inquiries.
The seven-day remand of the suspects follows the discovery last Saturday of 51-year-old Sariya Che Hin, found with severe head injuries in the kitchen of her home, and her 11-year-old adopted daughter, Nur Afrina Alisha Abdul Rahim, who was located upstairs, face down and covered in blood.
The case is currently being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - October 21, 2025
