MARANG: A helicopter flying low over a beach in Pulau Kapas, Terengganu, has sparked criticism after its rotor wash sent sand and belongings flying among beachgoers.
A video shared on Threads showed the helicopter hovering close to the shoreline and appearing to approach the beach as if preparing to land.
The strong rotor wash forced beachgoers to shield themselves as sand, food and personal belongings were blown around.
The person who shared the video criticised the incident, saying sand had been blown onto visitors and their picnic meals.
The video has triggered widespread criticism online, with many questioning the pilot's actions and urging the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) to investigate.
CAAM has yet to comment on the incident.
