LABUAN: The Chinese Chamber of Commerce here welcomed the Government’s decision to review the drastic price hike of commercial subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from RM26 to RM70 per 14kg cylinder, saying deferring the hike gives relief to F&B outlets.

The policy to be effective May 1 and to all F&B outlets to combat and curb misuse and smuggling of subsidised LPG triggered an outcry.

Chamber Chairman Datuk Wonk Kii Yii said such bombshell price of non-subsidised LPG would be best buried for good as it its implementation would have unhappy consequences for both the traders and consumers.
