KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 - The proposed implementation of the East Coast Expressway Phase Three (LPT3) through a public-private partnership (PPP) model and measures to curb syndicates distributing harmful vape products targeting youths and school students are among the focus of the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

According to the Order Paper on Parliament's official website, during Question Time, Dungun MP Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli will ask the Works Minister to state the government's key considerations for the proposed implementation of LPT3 under the PPP model, including the implications for toll rates and the project's implementation timeline.

Masjid Tanah MP Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin will ask the Home Minister to explain the stricter enforcement measures planned to curb syndicates distributing harmful vape products targeting youths and school students.

Also drawing attention is Batu MP Prabakaran Parameswaran's query to the Home Minister on the government's measures to address persistent congestion at the country's entry points, including efforts to expedite immigration clearance.

During the same session, Temerloh MP Salamiah Mohd Nor will ask the Health Minister to state the effectiveness of digital public healthcare initiatives, such as MySejahtera and electronic health records, in reducing congestion at government hospitals.

The Dewan Rakyat will then proceed with the winding-up debate on the Motion on the 2024 Annual Report and Financial Statements of the Malaysian Human Rights Commission by the relevant ministers.

The Second Meeting of the Fifth Session of the 15th Parliament is scheduled to sit for 16 days, concluding on Thursday (July 16).
