The LRT Kelana Jaya Line was down and initially had to be closed until November 15. Thanks to the efforts and hard work of the respective parties, the issues have been resolved and the train services resumed ahead of the schedule early this morning (November 14).
RapidKL also announced that compensations will be given to the affected users once services have resumed, and as promised, they have released the details of the compensation via their Twitter account. Fellow LRT users, here’s how you can “redeem” your free rides.
My50 monthly pass users
If your My50 monthly pass expires anywhere between Monday (November 14) and Sunday (November 20), you’ll be granted a 7-day free ride when you renew your monthly pass from November 21 until December 20.
Do ensure you have a minimum balance of RM5 in your pass.
Touch N’ Go card users
If you ride the LRT trains using your Touch N’ Go cards, you can do so as usual and will not be charged from November 14 until November 20. Keep in mind that this free ride is only applicable to the Kelana Jaya Line.
If your starting point and your destination are anywhere within the Kelana Jaya Line, rest assured that you can tap your Touch N’ Go cards without any charges. Similarly, a minimum balance of RM5 is needed for your Touch N’ Go cards.
Token users
Not a user of the My50 monthly pass and Touch N’ Go cards? Fret not!
If you’re traveling with tokens, you can still enjoy the free rides starting today (November 14) until Sunday (November 20). To do so, simply visit the Customer Service Counter at any LRT, BRT, Monorail, and MRT stations to redeem the special token for your free rides.

Once again, do keep in mind that the free rides are only applicable if you’re traveling within the Kelana Jaya Line.
