LRT Line 2 operating hours shortened on July 25

THE Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) will shorten operating hours for LRT Line 2 on July 25 to allow urgent repair and replacement works along the track between V. Mapa and J. Ruiz stations.

The LRTA said the maintenance activity on a rigid frognose section is necessary to ensure safer and more reliable train operations.

A rigid frognose is a track component that allows trains to safely and smoothly pass when shifting from one track to another.

Under the adjusted schedule, the last trip from Recto Station will leave at 8 p.m., while the final trip from Antipolo Station will leave at 7:30 p.m.

The LRTA said it will deploy shuttle vans to provide alternative transportation for passengers affected by the shortened operations. It will also coordinate with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Philippine National Railways (PNR) to help provide additional transport options.

Passengers were advised to plan their trips accordingly and monitor the LRTA’s official social media pages for more announcements and updates.
