The August 2026 edition of #LSADrinks continues to take a look at the most exciting events and launches happening in Malaysia and beyond. Whether it’s the Guinness House of Small pop-up or celebrating friendships with Roku Gin, there’s just so much to look forward to in the world of ABV. Keep reading to find out what’s new this month!
Carlsberg Golf Classic is back for its 33rd edition
From July to October 2026, the Carlsberg Golf Classic (or CGC) will be running its 33rd edition! Throughout the tournament season, it’s said that there are more than RM2.7 million worth of prizes to win (including two BMW 320i models) — with 30 qualifying rounds throughout the nation, starting at Sungai Petani Golf Club on 4 July. The entire Carlsberg Golf Classic for 2026 will involve 30 golf clubs in total, including four in East Malaysia.

Of course, throughout the competition, refreshing brews will be served. They include the likes of Somersby Apple 0.0, 1664 Blanc, Connor’s and Carlsberg Smooth Draught.

Cempedak Island unveils Cempedak Sunset Takeovers featuring Asia’s best bars
Located in Bintan, Cempedak Private Island is a bamboo-focused resort that focuses on responsible tourism. Starting July 2026, they launched Cempedak Sunset Takeovers — an initiative that features some of the most celebrated cocktail bars in Asia. From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on selected dates, its Dodo Bar will host guest shifts while resort guests unwind over cocktails and a relaxing hospitality. Malaysia’s very own Coley was the first to participate with a bar takeover on 4 July. Up next, look forward to Bar Sathorn from Bangkok (16 August), Sora from Phnom Penh (19 September), F*nkytown from Bangkok (10 October), Native from Singapore (7 November), 28 HongKong Street from Singapore (12 November) and Hybrid from Nha Trang (5 December).

Guinness to hold House of Small pop-up at The Exchange TRX
Yes, you read that right! From 8 to 9 August, you can head over to The Exchange TRX’s Urban Node to check out the Guinness House of Small pop-up. In commemoration of the launch of the smallest Guinness Draught in Can, the space offers interactive activities for small groups of four. And when the journey is completed, look forward to receiving an RM5 voucher (for the purchase of any Guinness Draught in Can product at Mercato TRX), a Guinness glass and of course, a complimentary can. There’s also the Nitrogen Widget Challenge to experience where you can learn how to create the same bar feel at home.

While International Friendship Day might have passed on 30 July 2026, the power of connection and togetherness isn’t going away.
