In a significant development in the LSD case, the district police have arrested a partner-owner of a hotel in Kullu for allegedly destroying crucial evidence in the case.

The accused has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar (35), resident of Bashona village in Bhuntar Tehsil, Kullu District.

Providing the information, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shimla, Gaurav Singh said the accused had destroyed CCTV footage and hard disk, which served as a key evidence in a case related to the seizure of LSD on March 10, 2026.

The SSP said in March, the district police had arrested a Punjab resident named Sandeep Sharma and a Sirmour resident named Priya with around 562 stamps of LSD, weighting 11.57 grams from New Shimla, after which a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, was registered and investigated was initiated.

“During the investigation police are carrying out an intensive, scientific and evidence-based investigation against the accused, the narcotics trafficking network and every individual connected to it. The investigation led to the arrest of Naviel Harrison, a resident of Calicut, Keralam from Gurugram, Haryana, who was the main supplier of the contraband” he said.

“Further investigation revealed that four members of the Special Task Force (STF) of the state police, who were also suspended by the police, were arrested on March 19. Police found that the four STF members had taken the LSD from Harrison in Sea Rock Hotel in Kullu. To verify the facts related to this sequence of events, the hard disk and DVR seized from the hotel premises were sent for forensic examination. However, police found that the footage and material in the hard disk were already deleted by Sanjeev, in collusion with the other accused” he said.

He said investigation is going on and police are finding out the involvement of more individuals in this racket.
