THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said on Friday that it will now define policy compliance periods using working days instead of calendar days to reduce confusion.
In a memorandum issued on Jan. 15 and effective immediately, the LTFRB said working days are explicitly defined as any day other than Saturdays, Sundays, or nonworking holidays, noting that these days are excluded from the compliance period.
“This is to avoid confusion among our clients because the existing prescriptive periods have been causing inconvenience to the public, especially to our clients,” said LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza II. “All rules and regulations must be clear, and the welfare of our citizens should always be considered.”
“It is crucial in every policy or order that the prescriptive period of compliance must be clear, just, and equitable to avoid any confusion and inconvenience to all stakeholders,” he added.
