Lucas Vazquez admitted relief after Real Madrid's 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The result, earned by an injury time equaliser from Toni Rudiger, still saw Real Madrid reach the Champions League knockout round.

Vazquez said, “That was a difficult match. Particularly once Shakhtar went ahead because they then made things more tough for us.

"The big difference with last week's match was how we used the ball. Last week we used possession with more accuracy and we created more chances infield than we could tonight. Shakhtar were very strong in their counterattacks and their strikers played well.

“At half-time we all talked about starting the second half properly switched on so to concede right at the beginning of the half left us angry. As far as Rüdiger is concerned we really hope that it's no more than a bump."
