Luka Vuskovic is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season at Hamburger SV while Tottenham continue to struggle defensively in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old Croatian centre-back has emerged as one of the standout young defenders in the Bundesliga during his loan spell in Germany.
His progress has come at a time when Tottenham’s defensive record remains a concern. Spurs have conceded 46 goals in 29 Premier League matches this season, the sixth worst total in the division.
Luka Vuskovic producing rare defensive numbers in the Bundesliga

Vuskovic’s performances have been highlighted by a remarkable statistic spotted by Squawka.
The data shows that he has twice contested at least ten duels in a Bundesliga match and won every single one.
Vuskovic went 10 from 10 in duels against Hoffenheim and followed it with a perfect 13 from 13 display against Wolfsburg on Saturday.
No other player in the Bundesliga has achieved that feat this season, which underlines how dominant the young defender has been in physical battles despite being just 19.
Tottenham loanee Luka Vuskovic also contributing goals
Vuskovic’s impact has not been limited to defending, with the centre-back also proving a threat in front of goal.
He has scored five goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances this season, an impressive return for a defender.
Tottenham secured his signature in September 2023, although the Croatian only moved to London in the summer of 2025 before joining Hamburger SV on loan for regular minutes.
The teenager is tied to Spurs on a long-term deal until 2030, meaning the club will be closely watching his rapid development in Germany as they look to strengthen their defence in the coming years.
